Area Insurance Agent Hilariously Normal Until It’s Time to Talk About Policies
CANTON, OH — Todd Stevens, local insurance agent and self-proclaimed “coverage enthusiast,” has once again become the talk of the office for being aggressively ordinary—until someone dares to bring up policies. Known for his reliable supply of oatmeal packets, inexplicable collection of novelty pens, and deep love of spreadsheets, Todd is the kind of guy you’d expect to blend into the background. And yet, somehow, he doesn’t.
“He’s a human dad joke,” said coworker Julie Miller. “The other day, he pointed at a crack in the breakroom ceiling and said, ‘Better check if that’s covered!’ And then he winked. But honestly, it’s weirdly comforting. You know Todd’s got your back.”
Todd’s reputation as the office prankster—within very specific limits—has earned him a cult following. “He put Post-it notes all over my desk that said things like ‘Policy Review at 3!’ and ‘Ask Todd About Endorsements!’” said Ben Travis, the newest hire. “It was so specific, it wasn’t even annoying. Just… Todd.”
A Day in Todd’s Delightfully Random Life
Todd starts his mornings with a cup of coffee he lovingly refers to as “my little deductible reset.” (No one knows what he means by this.) By 9:00 a.m., he’s deep into client emails, often typing with one hand while using the other to adjust the bobblehead collection that lives on his desk. “It’s all about balance,” he says, referencing both his work ethic and his Dwight Schrute bobble wobbling in agreement.
At least once a day, Todd bursts into the office kitchen with some sort of prop. Last week, it was a toy horse he used to explain bundling policies: “Think of the saddle as your liability coverage. The reins? That’s property. Together, they make one smooth ride!” His coworkers groaned, but also, quietly, they took notes.
A Love for Insurance That’s Alarmingly Contagious
Despite his quirks, Todd’s clients rave about him. “I don’t know how he made business interruption coverage exciting, but he did,” said local bakery owner Donna Peters. “He had this whole metaphor about a bread machine breaking down. He even brought me a loaf of banana bread as an example. It was oddly effective.”
Coworkers say it’s this mix of goofiness and genuine dedication that makes Todd stand out. “He once spent 45 minutes explaining additional insured endorsements to me using salt shakers and a paper towel,” said Julie. “And honestly? I get it now.”
Is Todd Just a Regular Guy, or Is He the Insurance Hero We All Need?
When asked if he ever gets tired of being, well, Todd, he laughed. “I’m just a guy trying to make risk management approachable. If that means I have to wear a fake mustache during a client call to explain exclusions, I’ll do it.”
And he has.
As for his coworkers, they wouldn’t have him any other way. “Todd’s like the Michael Scott of insurance,” said Ben. “But instead of ‘that’s what she said,’ it’s, ‘Did you know SolePro offers instant workers’ comp quotes?’ And somehow, it works.”
Todd Stevens: the guy who can make you laugh and teach you about policy exclusions in one breath. Honestly, we’re all a little better for it.
